Benedetta Pilato Wins Gold

Benedetta Pilato won the 100 breaststroke gold at the Mediterranean Games, lowering the championship record twice. She achieved a time of 1:06.64 in the prelims and then 1:05.82 in the final, 0.07 faster than her bronze-winning time at Paris 2026.

Pilato led home defending champion Lisa Angiolini, who made it an Italian 1-2 in 1:06.55, with Tina Celik of Slovenia third in 1:07.58.
