The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America released its Division II preseason rankings this week. Nova Southeastern's women's team leads the poll with 245 points, while the Drury men's team is ranked No. 1 with 243 points.

The rankings set early expectations for the 2026-27 NCAA season. They are voted on by committees of Division II coaches from across the country. Committee members evaluate teams based on head-to-head results, nationally ranked performances, and event depth.

Tampa and Indianapolis emerge as top challengers

Tampa ranks second in both the women's and men's polls, showing significant dual-program strength. The Spartan women earned 242 points, while the men collected 241 points.

The University of Indianapolis also appears as a contender in both rankings. The Greyhounds men's team is ranked third with 228 points. Their women's team holds the fifth position with 206 points.

Colorado Mesa and defending champs highlight conference shifts

Colorado Mesa University features prominently in both polls. The Maverick women are ranked third with 231 points. Their men's team sits fourth with 220 points.

Nova Southeastern's top-ranked women enter the season as the four-time defending national champions. They won the 2025-26 NCAA Division II Women's Swimming and Diving Championship, their fourth consecutive title. They now aim for a fifth straight national win.

Behind the leaders, the polls reveal a deep field of contenders. The complete rankings for the top ten teams in each poll are as follows:

For the men, Bridgeport topped the also-receiving-votes list with 16 points. Missouri S&T followed with 12, and PennWest Clarion had 11. The Drury men, despite their No. 1 ranking, were noted as having finished just 13.5 points behind in the final standings at last year's NCAA Championships.

The CSCAA Division II preseason poll is dated September 29, 2026. Its release marks the official start of the buildup to the 2026-27 national championship season.
