The University of Tennessee swimming and diving teams have released their competition schedule for the 2026-27 season...

The University of Tennessee swimming and diving program will begin its 2026-27 season on October 9 with a home meet. The schedule, announced by Director of Swimming and Diving Matt Kredich on August 26, 2026, leads to the SEC Championships in February and the NCAA Championships in March. Fans can track the team's progress throughout the season on the official stats page.

Matt Kredich expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming campaign. "Tennessee Swimming and Diving will once again be competing with some of the best teams and athletes in the country in a number of different formats," he said. The program is coming off a season where both the Vols and Lady Vols secured top-five finishes at the NCAA Championships for the second consecutive year.

College Swimming League Debut

The season opens with a new event. Tennessee will host the fourth match of the inaugural College Swimming League (CSL) at the Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center on October 9. The CSL involves 12 programs competing in six matches nationwide. Louisville, Michigan, and Virginia will come to Knoxville for that event. Tennessee then travels to Athens, Georgia, for an all-SEC CSL match against Alabama, Auburn, and Georgia on October 23.

Each CSL match features 15 events with 14 men and 14 women from each program. Top teams from the league will advance to the Wild Card and Championships in Indianapolis on November 5-6.

Fall Invitational and Dual Meets

After the CSL, the team returns home for the annual Tennessee Invitational from November 18-20. This three-day meet routinely attracts many of the nation's top swimmers and divers. The 2026 portion of the schedule concludes with a dual meet at Kentucky, an opponent Tennessee has faced in the regular season for four straight years. For the full list of opponents and dates, visit the fixtures page.

The 2027 calendar begins with the UT Diving Invitational in Knoxville from January 7-9. Conference duals then follow, starting with a home meet against South Carolina on January 16. Georgia visits on January 23. The regular season closes with a trip to face Duke.

Championship Season Schedule

The championship phase starts with the SEC Swimming & Diving Championships in Austin, Texas, from February 13-20. The Lady Vols finished second at the 2026 conference championships, while the Vols placed third. You can follow the team's pursuit of the conference title on the standings board. Tennessee will then host a Last Chance Meet on February 26 and 27 for athletes seeking NCAA qualification.

The NCAA Zone B Diving Championships will be hosted in Knoxville from March 6-10. The national championships follow at the University of Texas. The women's NCAA Championships are scheduled for March 17-20, with the men's event set for March 24-27.

Key Returners for the Vols and Lady Vols

The men's team brings back several top performers. Koby Bujak-Upton returns after finishing second in the 200 freestyle at the 2026 NCAA Championships and posting the nation's fastest time (1:29.79) in that event last season. Junior diver Bennett Greene earned bronze on the 1-meter at NCAAs and led all divers with 38 points. Sophomore Gabe Nunziata aims to build on top-10 finishes in the 100 and 200 breaststroke.

The women's team seeks a fourth straight top-five NCAA finish. Camille Spink leads the charge. She has won the 50 and 100 free at the SEC Championships for three consecutive years, sweeping the 50, 100, and 200 free events the last two seasons. McKenzie Siroky enters the year after winning gold in the 100m breast at the Pan Pacific Championships this summer; she took silver in the same event at the 2026 NCAAs. Sophomore diver Desharne Bent-Ashmeil returns after top-five finishes in the 1-meter and 3-meter at the national championships.
